The Challenge
A prominent commercial bakery was facing significant quality control issues with their automated labeling line. Using a standard-grade wax-resin ribbon from a previous supplier, the expiration dates and ingredient lists on their poly-bagged flour and sugar mixes were frequently fading during transit. Additionally, the labels suffered from poor scratch resistance, often arriving at retail locations with unreadable barcodes due to the friction of bags rubbing together in the shipping crates.

The Solution
The client switched to our Premium Wax-Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbon. Engineered for high-speed applications and superior durability, this ribbon was selected specifically for its high resin content, which creates a much tighter bond with synthetic and coated paper substrates.
The Results
Crisp, Dark Imprints: The premium formulation provided a deeper blackness (optical density), ensuring that even small-font allergen warnings were perfectly legible.
Superior Scuff Resistance: Tests showed that the new prints remained intact even after simulated long-haul transport, completely eliminating the “bad scratch” issues experienced with the previous brand.
Production Efficiency: Because our premium ribbon transfers ink effectively at lower heat settings, the client was able to reduce the printhead temperature, extending the life of their hardware and reducing downtime.
Total Reliability: The bakery reported a 100% reduction in retail rejections due to unreadable labels, ensuring their supply chain remained compliant and efficient.
Retort & Cold Chain Compatibility: Maintains integrity even if the packaging is subjected to temperature fluctuations during storage.
Smudge-Proof Performance: Resistant to the fine dust and powders often present in baking environments.
High-Speed Printing: Designed to keep up with fast-moving production lines without skipping or ghosting.
